Questions about the PPP SIG

Who are the members of the PPP SIG?

Our diverse membership includes behavior analysts and students, as well as parents and other family members. Reasons to join are varied. Many parents who are part of the PPP SIG are interested in networking with other parents.

How can I join the PPP SIG?

Please send an email to Marianne Clancy at marianne@autism-aims.com with your name, credentials, title, affiliation, address, phone number, and email address. Specify whether you are already a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis, and if you are a parent, professional, or both. As a member, you will receive emails from time to time about issues of relevance to this SIG.

Is there a fee to join the PPP SIG?

There is no fee to join the PPP SIG.

Does the PPP SIG distribute a newsletter?

The Parent-Professional Partnership SIG does not yet have a newsletter of its own and there are no current plans to develop one. However, the Autism Special Interest Group (SIG) Newsletter is published electronically on a quarterly basis. The leaders of the PPP SIG are active contributors to the Autism SIG newsletter. Features of the Autism SIG newsletter include interviews, conference previews or reviews, program descriptions, clinical intervention descriptions, research synopses, book reviews, abstracts of recently published research, and job announcements. For more information about the Autism SIG newsletter, please visit www.autismsig.org.

How can I access prior issues of the Autism SIG newsletter?

Prior issues of the Autism SIG newsletter are archived on the Autism SIG website (www.autismsig.org). Note that each issue is organized by specific themes/topics.

How can I provide feedback about this website?

The webpage is a recent initiative of the PPP SIG. It is in its early stages and will grow with input and contributions from our membership. Please feel free to make comments about how we can develop this site to better benefit the membership. This feedback can be sent to dacnys@aol.com.

Who staffs the PPP SIG?

The SIG leadership is made up of an entirely volunteer committee of professionals and parents.  Therefore, SIG activities need to be carefully prioritized given the absence of any paid staff.

Does the PPP SIG advocate for legislative reform?

No, that is currently not within the scope of our activities. We suggest consumers and other concerned people contact their elected officials, and/or their state chapter of the Association for Behavior Analysis International, and/or state Autism agency for further information.

Can the PPP SIG use any volunteers?

Absolutely! The SIG can benefit from the support and assistance of its membership. More specifically, we can use help with the following three tasks: 1) developing content for our website; 2) local publicity for upcoming conferences; and 3) disseminating information about the www.pppsig.org site. Please email David Celiberti at dacnys@aol.com with your name and the volunteer activities that most interest you.
