Division of Research and Training
The Division of Research and Training is responsible for the development,
implementation and evaluation of research carried out at the DDDC, and the
coordination of autism related research with other departments in the
University and outside agencies. All research activities are conducted
within the guidelines of the Institutional Review Board of the Office of
Research and Sponsored Programs at Rutgers University. Families are invited
to participate in research projects, but participation is not required in
order to receive services from the Center. The Division also takes the lead
role in all training activities for DDDC staff, and offers training and
continuing education activities for the University and general community.
The Division also provides behavioral consultation services to all programs
at the DDDC. The Division of Research and Training is committed to ensuring
the integrity of ABA applications at the DDDC, and is involved in the
following activities:
- Applied research comparing various educational interventions
- Collaboration with other agencies and other University faculty
- Leadership in state, national and international organizations
- Publications in books and journals
- Presentations at state, national and international conferences
- Annual DDDC conference and training institutes
- Inservice and ongoing training activities for DDDC staff
- ABA courses and continuing education for certification as a Behavior Analyst
- Practicum experiences for graduate students in Clinical and School Psychology
- Graduate assistantships for graduate students in Clinical Psychology
- Field Work course for undergraduate students
- Research course for undergraduate students
- Behavioral and educational consultation services to the DDDC
- Assessment services to the DDDC
